Franco-Italian naval preparations at Venice according to the Dutch newspaper Koninklijke Courant dated 11 April 1807

Venice, 19 March. In the Arsenal were with all efforts the navy strengthened. Three large gun chaloupes of a new invention armed with 24 pdr guns and carronades and a 24 gun barge were launched in February. On 14 March was a brig of war armed with 16-24pdrs launched and within a few days a similar brig will be launched. All entrances at the sea side of the city are reinforced and the building of several floating batteries is projected.
