The British order given to Mehemet-Ali, Pasha of Egypt, seems to have little effort. Ordered was to disarm the Egyptian fleet and not longer to strengthen her. There were none ships unrigged, but in contrary many vessels sent to the coasts of Syria and Koramanie to collect the 50.000 pieces of timber left there by Ibrahim Pasha, son of Mehemet. With great impatience Mehemet waited for this timber, wanting to built new ships and enlarge his navy.
