Russian naval movements in the Levant according to the Dutch newspaper Ommelander Courant dated 30 December 1788

Malta, 26 November. A Russian frigate commanded by captain Desclipet to pick up the two prizes captured by Russian privateers.

Trieste, 22 November. All Russian privateers who were cruising in the Adriatic, Archipelago and the Mediterranean returned to Trieste. Probably they will be unrigged and not depart as privateers anymore until 20,000 roubles were paid. They confirmed that they would form a small fleet commanded by major Lambro Cazzione and leave for open sea in service of the Russian empress.
