Washington, 20 February. As a result of the disaster with the USS Macon (2) dated the American Secretary of the navy Swanson (1) that he would resist against the building of new airships for the navy. Perhaps were airships suitable for commercial purposes but certainly not for military purposes.

Notes
1. The rigid airship USS Macon (ZRS-5) launched on 21 April 1933 was crashed on 12 February 1935.
2. Claude Augustus Swanson (31 March 1862-7 July 1939) lawyer and Democratic politician and secretary between 6 March 1933 and 7 July 1939.
