England strengthened her naval force in South East Asia according to the Dutch newspaper Amigoe di Curacao dated 29 October 1963

An item reported that England decided to strengthen her naval force in South East Asia in 1964 with new guided missile destroyers announced vice admiral Sir Desmond Dreyer in Sydney, Australia.(1) The personnel strength was in three years already increased from 8,500 tot 13,000 men and would further increase.

Sir Desmond Parry Dreyer (6 April 1910-15 May 2003), served in the Royal Navy between 1924 and 1968, took part as a gunnery officer on board of the HMS Ajax against the German pocket battleship Graf Spee in December 1939, in 1962 Commander-in-Chief Far East Fleet and responsible from the Commonwealth naval actions against Indonesian operations in Malaysia and so on.
