New warships for Columbia according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 28 April 1826

At Cartagena, Columbia arrived on 25 February a newly built 64-gun frigate coming from New York, USA while a second one was expected to arrive soon. The 24 gun Ceres was fitted out and manned. There were also 3 Swedish warships and the Protector of England there of which was thought that the Colombian government wanted to buy.
