East German icebreaker Stephan Jantzen (project 97E) 1965-2005 (still existing)

Nowadays the Germany-flagged yacht Konig Ludwig II von Bayern with as homeport Regensburg. Built in 1967 at the Admiralty Shipyard at St. Petersburg as the ice breaker Stehphan Jantzen, renamed 2005 Stephan, renamed February 2006 King Ice, renamed 2008 Stephan Jantzen and renamed October 2012 Konig Ludwig II von Bayern. Gross tonnage 2.216 tons and as summer deadweight 1.118 tons. Of the Nikitich-class icebreakers with as dimensions 67,64 (over all) x 18,28 x 5,64 (maximum) metres and a tonnage of 2.391,32 BRZ/2,254 BRT. Speed 14,6 (maximum) knots with 2.151 hp/1.582kW horsepower. Laid down in 1965, launched in 1967 and begin 1968 commissioned. Between 1967-1990 managed by the Bagger-, Bugsier- und Bergungsreederei for the East German government Seefarhtsambt and between 1990-2005 for the Wasser- und Schiffahrtsamt Stralsund. Until 1990 homeport Rostock and since then Stralsund. Finally decommissioned on 2April 2005. Sold to the Greek shipping company Beta Mar Limited byt finally was the sale annulated. Since then several times sold. Nowadays (shipspotting 23-10-2013) owned and managed by L.K. Gunther, Germany. IMO 7117486, MMSI 211207360 and callsign DHGN2.
