Italian flying boat Caproni Ca 60 Noviplano 1921

The Caproni Ca.60 Transaero was usually called Noviplano or Capronissimo. This merchant flying boat fitted out with 3x3 wings and 8x400hp liquid-cooled V12 Liberty L-12 engines as to be used as a transatlantic passengers plane with a speed of 130 kilometres (cruising) and a range pf 360 nautical miles. Just one example is ever built The first flight above the Lake Maggiore was on 12 February or 2 March 1921, the second flight on 4 March was disastrous when is was destroyed in a crash. Designed by Gianni Caproni and built by his own firm. Wingspan 40 metres/98.5 feet, total wing area 750 square metres/8.073 square feet. Weight 14 (empty)-26 (maximum) ton. Length 23,45 metres/77 feet and a height of 9,15 metres/30 feet.
