Naval strength of Iraq according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuw Israelietisch weekblad dated 13 August 1965

The navy consisted of 14 former Russian motor torpedo boats of which just seven operational, six former Russian gunboats and some smaller patrol boats to be used for operations in Shatt El Arab and the Persian Gulf and further more a personnel strength of 1,800 men. The newspaper reported that the reliability of these details were questionable. The details were supplied by Mr. David Wood of the Institute for Strategy.
