American Standard Oil Company of California ordered building tanker in Germany according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 11 April 1936

An item reported that the American Standard Oil Company of California at San Francisco ordered the building of a 17.000 tons motor tanker at the Germaniawerf of the German firm Krupp A.G. at Kiel. The keels of two earlier ordered 15,000 tons motor tankers were already laid down.
