British hopper Viscount Churchill built at Sliedrecht, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Voorwaarts dated 5 July 1924

An item reported that on the Nieuwe Waterweg the British self propelled hopper Viscount Churchill performed her trial. She was built by the Dutch shipyard N.V. Scheepsbouwwerf Baanhoek at Sliedrecht. Her main dimensions were 170’ x 32’ x 151. The capacity of her cargo hold was 1.000 net tons. The vertical triple expansion engine was manufactured by Penn and Bauduin at Dordrecht supplying 500 ihp allowing a medium speed during the trial while loaded 8,1 miles. Ship and engines were built under supervision of Lloyds Register of Shipping and the Board of Trade. The bottom valves each with three drums and 2” dam chains were also manufactured by Penn&Bauduin.
