Finnish cutter dredger Vesipekka built at Krimpen aan de Lek, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Het vrije volk dated Thursday 12 January 1961

An item reported that next Saturday the cutter dredger Vesipekka was to be launched at the shipyard of J. en K. Smit at Krimpen aan de Lek (IHC-Holland|). She was built for account of the Finnish company Insinooritoimisto oy Vesi-Pekka at Helsinki. The spouse of one of the Finnish directors would baptize her. Another newspaper De Tijd dated 16 January confirmed this tiding adding some additional details. Her dimensions were 25 x 8 metres and her maximum suction depth 14 metres. The Vesi Pekka could be disassembled.
