Swedish-Norwegian naval strength according to the Dutch newspaper Groninger Courant dated 23 May 1854

An item reported that the Swedish-Norwegian fleet of 2 ships of the line, 4 frigates, 1 corvette, 2 steam corvettes and 1 cutter brig arrived at Elsnabben. The Swedish king visited the fleet and saw the large enthusiasm of the crew regarded the possible war with Russia.(1) At the same time were the shipyards all efforts to fit out a large number of new gunboats.
