Huge Spanish naval shipbuilding program according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1912-1913 no. 10

An item referred to the magazine International Review dated 13 February reporting that the Spain made a new shipbuilding program including the creation of a second squadron. Intended was to built at El Ferrol 2-circa 21.000 ton battleships with a speed of 21 miles and to be armed with 2x4-34cm guns, 14-15cm quick firing guns and 5 torpedo launching devices, at Cadiz 2-5.000/6.000 ton cruisers with a speed of 25 miles and to be armed with 10-15cm guns, a large number of smaller quick firing guns and 3 torpedo launching devices and finally at Carthagena 3-400/600 ton submarines and 9-600 destroyers with a speed of 30 miles. In the latter place was also a dock with a docking capacity of ships with a maximum tonnage of 30.000 tons to be built.
