Royal British Navy ordered high sea destroyers according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1905-1906 no. 7

An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reporting that the Royal British Navy ordered the building of 5-800 ton high sea destroyers with a speed of 33 miles by separate shipyards. They were to be fitted out with Express boilers (able to use also oil as fuel) and for cruising Parsons-turbines. The coal bunker capacity had to be sufficient enough for a range of 3.000 nautical miles with a speed of 10 miles.
