Austrian navy building large minelayer according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1912-1913 no. 7

An item reported that the Austrian navy intended to start on short notice with the building of a 1.000 ton minelayer at the arsenal of Pola. She was to be fitted out with turbines. Building costs were estimated to be 1.750.000 francs. The minelayers Dromedar, Salamander and Basilisk at that moment used by the Austrian navy were useless in rough weather.
