US navy submarine shipbuilding program according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1907-1908 no. 8

An item referred to the magazine Army and Naval Journal reporting that in contradiction to earlier tidings that the complete budget of 3.000.000 US dollars available for the submarines of the Octopus-type manufactured by the Electric Boat Company were now four submarines of that type and three somewhat larger submarines of the same firm and further more two of the lake-design to be built.
