An item reported that at the shipyard De Haan en Oerlemans N.V. at Heusden the corvette Forte de Coimbra was launched. She was the first of the ten corvettes built in the Netherlands. Dimensions 51,14 (between perpendiculars)-55,72 (over all) x 9,30 x 3,55 and a hold of 4,60 metres. Fitted out with 2x1.080 hp at 300 rpm engines. Present during the launching were the Brazilian ambassador dr. Themistocles da Graca Aranha and the consul-general dr. Murillo Tassa Fragoso.
