China seized German merchant ships at Shanghai according to the Dutch newspaper Tilburgsche Courant dated 15 March 1917

An item dated Washington the 15th referred to tidings received by the US Navy Department reporting that China seized the German merchant ships lying at Shanghai. Their crews were brought on land and were now guarded.
