Flat-bottomed vessels of the French-Batavian flotilla built in Holland arriving in Flushing, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Bataafsche Leeuwarder Courant dated 24 December 1803

An item dated Flushing the 13th reported that the from Holland sent gunboats started to arrive at Flushing. It was expected that the expedition would depart on short notice after Bonaparte inspected the ships and vessels. In the meantime was naval adjutant Roepel arrived who would be aided to rear admiral Ver Huell. (1)

1. Carel Hendrik count Ver Huell (4 February 1764 Doetinchem, Netherlands-25 October 1845 Paris, France). Dutch and French navy officer, ending his career in the rank of vice-admiral. In 1806 he became minister of navy in the Kingdom Holland.
