Portuguese bark Porto sunk by German submarine according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 5 August 1918

An item reported that a German submarine on 27 July on a distance of 550 miles of the Atlantic coast sunk the Portuguese bark Porto by using a bomb placed in the cargo of cotton. The Porto was coming from Savannah. Her crew numbering 18 men was launched by a British steamship in an American harbour.
