Vessels for invasion of England built at Amsterdam, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Groninger courant dated 13 December 1803

An item dated Gouda the 5ht reported that the same day 25 gunboats passed coming from Amsterdam destined for Flushing, each armed with 2 guns and to be followed by a similar number.(1)

1. Built for the intended French invasion of England. Admiraliteitsarchieven XLVII no. 17 (Asmus) at National Archive, The Hague, Netherlands reports that at Amsterdam between 1803 and 1804 68 flat-bottomed vessels, armed with 7 guns and as dimensions50’x 20’ x 6½’were built and further more 20-7gun gunboats with as dimensions 85½’x 21’ x 9 7/11’.
