Dutch steam tanker Halaban launched at Rotterdam, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf dated 13 July 1897

An item reported that on the Saturday before at the shipyard of Rijkée&Co. at Katendrecht (Rotterdam), Netherlands the steam tanker Halaban was launched. She was built for account of the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van Petroleumbronnen in Nederlandsch-Indië at The Hague. Built for transporting petroleum to the several stations within the Archipelago with as captain E. Lukkien. Her machine and boiler were manufactured by the company ‘de Maas’ at Rotterdam. Responsible for the electric lightning was the Electrotechnische Industrie v/h Willem Smit&Co. at Slikkerveer.
