British and Spanish merchant ships and Colombian privateers according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 11 July 1825

Barcelona, 26 Juny. Letters from Algeziras reported that the Spanish brigantine Prima de Catalona fought fiercely with a privateer of the Independents off Cape Spartel and which latter was just to surrender when the brigantine was hit below the waterline and sunk. Her master arrived at Algeziras. The brigantine left with some other ships Havana but was separated while entering the Bay of Cadiz while she was destined for the Catalonian coasts.

According to the newspaper Journal de Brux. was the ship el Feliz coming from Havana and destined for Barcelona captured by an American privateer in the fairways of Malaga.
Cadiz, 15 June. The Spanish goelette De Drie Gebroeders arrived the day before yesterday. She was freighted for account of the merchants at Cadiz and met at sea the British brig Wellesley that transported sir Charles Stuart responsible for the negotiations with the Brazilian emperor towards Rio Janeiro.
