The Greek and the Turkish navies in the Levant according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 30 March 1823

Venice, 15 March. According to a published extract of a letter arrived two ships at Venice which left Corfu 5 and 8 March with the tidings that the Turkish fleet was attacked off Patras by the Greek fleet and totally defeated. The Greeks seemed to have captured 30 ships, burnt two frigates and destroyed some other vessels while losing themselves 15 vessels.
