The Greek and Turkish navies in the Levant according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 5 August 1825
Livorno, 26 July. Since some ships there arrived none ships coming from the East until today when a large number mainly from the Black Sea arrived. An Austrian master sighted 20 days earlier the Greek fleet of 60 ships lying in front of a Turkish fleet of 80 ships. He had spoken the Greek admiral which was very sad caused by the tidings from Morea and the expectation that Tripolizza had to surrender soon. The next day lost the master the fleet out of sight but heard a heavy gunfire. Another Austrian master who left 14 days earlier Zante confirmed that Ibrahim Pasha captured Tripolizza.
