Russian merchant ships seized at Constantinople, Turkey according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 31 July 1823

Odessa, 4 July. The Porte decided to release the four seized Russian ships after heavy protests of lord Strangford. They ships were however not allowed to continue their voyage to the Archipelago but had to return homewards. In an earlier news item were complaints dealing with the problematic relationship between Odessa and Constantinople mentioned.
