Paris, France, 1 November. Letters from Italy and the Archipelago referred
more of less in the same way that after the heavy fights between the Greek navy
and the navy of the Barbary States a seriously battle found place 25 September.
The Greek won this battle and destroyed or captured all transports and several
warships were set into fire by Greek fire ships. Three of the main Egyptian
commanding officers were taken prisoner namely Ibrahim pasha, son of the pasha
of Egypt, admiral Ismail Gibraltar and a renegade being former aide de camp of
general Groucy who commanded the landing troops.
