Dutch navy transports Zr.Ms. Merwede and Dordrecht departed Hellevoetsluis towards Guinea and the Dutch East Indies according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 25 April 1838

Tidings dated Hellevoetsluis reported the long awaited departure on the 22nd of the Zr.Ms. transport Merwede (1), 1st lieutenant Stort and a merchant ship both destined towards the coast of Guinea and the Zr.Ms. transport Dordrecht (2), captain lieutenant Koops and 12 merchant ships towards the Dutch East Indies.

1. On stocks at the shipyard of Jan Schouten, Dordrecht, Netherlands 1835, launched on 28 July 1838, last mentioned 1859, dimensions 33,70 x 9,14 x 3,80 metres and armed with 8 guns.
2. Launched at the shipyard of Jan Schouten at Dordrecht, Netherlands on 29 April 1828 at 16.30 o‘clock, handed over to KNZRV in 1848 armed with 8 guns.
