An item referred to a letter dated Honolulu
29 October reporting that the CSS Shenandoah burned the Hawaii-flagged whaler
Harvest owned by the house of Pfluger Brothers, Honolulu, Hawaii.
It was now said that the owners asked the British government for compensation
and which was paid. The newspaper concluded that she was a British pirate and
not a Confederate raider.
