Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Prins Maurits der Nederlanden towed to the roads off Vlissingen, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Heldersche en Nieuwedieper Courant dated 10 December 1863

An item dated Den Helder the 9th reported that in the morning of the 6th the Frans Naerebout towed the Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Prins Maurits der Nederlanden (1) out of the dock towards the roads.(2) A sailor who tried to leave the corvette however fell over board and drowned. His body was salvaged and brought to the hospital.

1. The former Atalante renamed in 1850, 1869 guard ship and 1905 stricken, laid down at the navy yard at Vlissingen on 9 June 1842 and launched on 21 July 1849. With a displacement of 776 tons and an armament of 28 guns.
2. Probably is mentioned the so-called the Dokhaven where ships were (temporarily) laid up, berthed or serving as guard ship.
