Dutch corvette Galathea wrecked in the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 1 December 1820

An item dated Batavia, Dutch East Indies 5 August reported that on 29 May the Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Galathea was wrecked on the cliffs Karang Hadjie near the island Bank and that this new handsome ship was completely lost. Just her crew and part of the guns, rigging and so on was saved. The causes of the incident and the behaviour of her commanding officer captain lieutenant Hinxt were at that moment investigated.
