Movements of Dutch warships in the Schelde area around Vlissingen, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche courant dated 2 April 1833

An item reported that due to contrary wind and the low water level the Dutch ship of the line Zr.Ms. Zeeuw (1) had not been able to leave the Dokhaven at Vlissingen. She was lying ready to sail upstream the Schelde with the first favourable wind. The Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Pollux (2) was on Tuesday afternoon towed upstream the Schelde by the steamboat Beurs van Amsterdam.(3)

1. Ship of the line 1st class, laid down at the navy yard at Vlissingen, Netherlands on 24 August 1819 by C. Soetermeer, launched on 16 August 1825, after 1859 rebuilt as the floating battery Jupiter. Displacement 3.245 tons, dimensions 57,5 (between perpendiculars) x 14,9 x 6,46 (fore)-7,12 (aft) metres, sail areas 2.327 square metres, an armament of 84 guns and a crew numbering 700 men.
2. ‘Kuil’corvette, laid down at the navy yard at Rotterdam, Netherlands in September 1822 by P. Glavimansz Jz., launched 13 March 1824, stricken and broken up 1838, displacement 775 tons,dimensions 36,5 (between perpendiculars)-10,00 (inner hull0 x 4,25 (foe)-4,82 (aft) x 5,39 (depth below maindeck) metres and an armament of 28 guns (20-12 pd guns or 20-30pd carronades, 9-12pd carronades and 2-6 pd guns).
3. Paddle steamship, Netherlands, belonged to Amsterdamsche Stoomboot Mij, built at Maudslay, London, England 1826, hired 1832-1833, gross register tonnage 525 tons and 120 nhp horsepower.
