Dutch transport Zr.Ms. Merwede departed Netherlands towards Surinam according to the Dutch newspaper De Curacaosche courant dated 27 July 1850

An item reported the departure from Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands on 27th June of the Dutch transport Zr.Ms. Merwede lieutenant1st class B.H. Staring towards Surinam with on board embarked a detachment West Indies military consisted of 2 corporals and 47 soldiers commanded by sergeant P.W. Frantz.(1)
