Dutch brig Zr.Ms. Venus departed Willemstad, Curacao towards Venezuela according to the Dutch newspaper De Curacaosche courant dated 16 July 1842

An item reported the departure Willemstad, Curacao on Tuesday the 12th of the Dutch brig Zr.Ms. Venus captain lieutenant F.A. Jöhr bound for La Guayra, Venezuela.(1)

1. Venus, brig, on stocks at navy yard at Rotterdam by P. Glavimans Jz. In 1833, launched 23 May 1838, docked at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 1 December 1845-16 May 1846 and 3 October 1851-afternoon 19 April 1852, free loan to the institute of sailors of the KNZRV at Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1862, stricken 1867, 29,8 (loadline) x 0,2 (inner hull) x 3,4 (fore)-4,5 (aft) x 4,5 (hold below main deck) metres, 565 tons displacement, and an armament of 18 guns (16-30pd carronades, 2-6pd guns).
