An item reported the arrival at Willemstad, Curacao on last Saturday morning of the American 44-gun frigate USS Congress captain Biddie coming from La Guayra, Venezuela. When entering the harbour she temporarily grounded on the west side due to the north wind although without suffering damage.(1)

1. Her building was ordered on27 March 1794, laid down at the shipyard of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA in 1795, launched on 15 August 1799, broken up in 1834, with a displacement of 1.265 tons and an armament of 40-44 guns.
