A letter written by captain Ripley on board of the bark E.A. Luce of Edgartown on 15 April reported that she was on sea on the position 1 degree North latitude and 92 degrees West longitude with a catch of 85 barrels sperm and 100 barrels blackfish since they departed Talcahuano, Chile.(1)
