An item dated Oud Anjer, Dutch East Indies [nowadays Anyer] 30th August reported the passing of the American bark Nemie Sheldon underway from Manila, Philippines towards Boston, USA. She however was damaged by striking a reef and was now bound for Batavia, Dutch East Indies to be repaired while she was leaking.
