Dutch bark Magdalena underway from Russia towards Germany temporarily towed by a German trawler according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 29 October 1896i

An item dated Bremerhaven, Germany 26th reported the return that same afternoon of the steam trawler Carl captain Carl who reported that he on the morning of the 24th 45 miles north west of Helgoland hailed the Dutch bark Magdalena captain Dekker underway from Wyborg, Russia towards Geestemünde, Germany. Although the Dutch bark claimed that everything was well on board she asked to be towed. Aster 5 hours of towing broke at 15.00 o’clock the tow line caused by a southern storm and high wind. It was impossible to bring out a new tow line and the steam trawler continued her voyage.
