Former American whaler Amethyst now used as merchant ship according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 16 August 1859

An item reported the departure by the former whaler Amethyst captain Studley on the 15th towards Honolulu, Hawaii loaded with merchandise and further more whalemen’s recruits. She was now property of Preserved S. Wilcox.
