Laid down as the BARS-2 for the US Maritime Commission at the shipyard of the Basalt Rock Company, Napa, California, USA with hull number 40 on 21 February 1942, launched on 7 September, completed and handed over to the British Royal Navy on 20 May 1943, commissioned on 1 July, leased to Royal Australian Navy on 2 September 1945, sold to Australia on 5 August 1948 on the in service of the Royal Australian Navy, sold to the Island Tug Barge Ltd., Vancouver, Canada in 1958, Costa Rica-flagged, homeport Puerto Limon, callsign VLVV, chartered by Transpacific Towage&Salvage Limited, sold to the Dutch company L. Smit&Co’s Sleepdienst N.V., Rotterdam, Netherlands. and renamed Carabische Zee (callsign PJIE, homeport Willemstad, Netherlands Antilles in 1962, sold to the Collins Submarine Pipelines Ltd., London, England and renamed Collinsea (callsign MHGX) in 1963, sold to the Marine Diamond Corporation Limited, Cape Town, South Africa and managed by Collins Submarine Pipelines Ltd., London, England (callsign Z5YN), owned by the Marine Diamond Corporation, Limited, Cape Town, South Africa and managed by Establishment Collins International, Cape Town, South Africa and Panama-flagged in 1971, owned and managed by Establishment Collins International, Paris, France and renamed Francois C, Panama-flagged, owned by Establishment Progemar International Vaduz, Paris, France and managed by Establishment Collins International, Kuwait, Panama-flagged since 1974, owned and managed by International Marine Services Inc., Paris, France, Panama flagged since 1978, owned by Establishment Progemar International Vaduz, Paris, France (also claimed Bahrain), Panama-flagged since 1980, sold to be broken up in 1980, not broken up but instead lying a year berthed at Khorramshahr, Iran and sold to a the Mubbarak Shipping Company, Dubai which renamed her Ras Deira but the same year broken up at Al-Tijarat International Limited, Karachi, Pakistan. Gross register tonnage 1.334-1.198 tons and as dimensions 65.47 x 12,29 x 4,65 metres. Horsepower 4.500 ihp.
