Dutch East Indiaman Beurs van Amsteram bound for the Dutch East Indies in 1686

Pinnace also called yacht. She left on 5 January 1686 the Maas, Netherlands with as captain Jan de Visser, visited Cape of Good Hope, South Africa between 21-May-21 June 1686 and arrived at Batavia, Dutch East Indies on 30 August 1686. Her crew numbered 83 (arrival)-85 (departure) sailors and further more 47 (arrival)-51 (departure) soldiers. Bought at Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1682-1683. Fitted this voyage out by the chamber Rotterdam. Tonnage 479 metric tons. Identical to the Beurs, dimensions 126-126’7” (prow) x 30 x12½, length hold 84’545”, Dutch measurement cargo capacity 236 last, measurement at Batavia, Dutch East Indies cargo capacity 220 last. Yacht, measured December 1688, capacity of hold gross 24143.25½ cub feet, net 21977.59 cubic feet.
