that the French corvette La
Chevrette (1) captain F. Fabré passed on 12 June the Sunda Strait
underway from Batavia, Dutch
East Indies towards Pondicherry.(2)
Notes
1. Corvette 2nd
class, launched at Toulon, France in June 1811.
2. Pondicherry is nowadays
called Puducherry and lies along the Indian East coast. The town was founded by
the French East Indies Company.
