Dutch lugger VL 170 temporarily stranded on the Oester, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 11 October 1898

An item dated Brouwershaven, Netherlands 8th reported that the same morning the Dutch lugger VL 170 master M. van der Zwan of the shipping company Maatschappij Hollandsche Zeevisscherij of Vlaardingen, Netherlands stranded on the Oester. The Dutch tugs Zuiderzee, Wodan and Hoek van Holland were underway to assist her . The next day was reported that the attempt of the tugs Wodan and Zeeland to tow her loss her during the morning tide failed due to a low water level. On the 10th was reported that she was refloated during the night underway towards her destination. Two vessels with her cargo arrived at Brouwershaven and Oudorp, Netherlands.
