An item dated Paris, France Wednesday 30th referred to tidings received from Vera Cruz, Mexico reporting that the health condition of the crews of the ships in the French squadron in the Mexican waters was quite satisfying. On board of the transport annex hospital ship Amazone were just 12 men ill infected by the yellow fever. Unlucky enough died the first doctor Rideau and surgeon Gaymard while treating the sick. The aviso Marceau captured a Mexican corvette.(1)
