Dutch tug Ajax launched at Amsterdam according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 5 July 1909
An item dated Amsterdam, Netherlands 1st reported the launch ding that morning of the ocean going tug Ajax from slip no. 4 of the Nederlandsche Scheepsbouw Maatschappij for account of the Nederlandsch Indische Tank Stoomboot Maatschappij, The Hague, Netherlands. Dimensions 121.0 x 24.0 x 13.6 (hold) feet. The Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij, Rotterdam was to deliver 650 ihp triple expansion steam engines. The Ajax was to be used for towing tank lighters in the Dutch East Indies and to depart in the end of July while towing the tank lighter Limburg, which was launched on 5th June at the same shipyard.
