British Royal Navy keeping monitors HMS Erebus and Terror in service according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1924 no. 2

An item referred to the magazine Naval and Military Record dated 28 November 1923 reporting that the British vice admiral Sir Roger Keyes (1) at the Royal United Service Institution stated that the monitors Erebus (2) and Terror (3) not long ago placed on the list to be stricken, stayed in service and more or less would be fitted out. The Erebus was on short notice even to be intensively repaired.

1. Roger John Brownlow Keyes (4 October 1862 Punjab, British India-26 December 1945 Tingewick, United Kingdom) ending his career in the rank of Admiral of the Fleet.
2. Laid down at the shipyard of Harland&Wolff, Govan, Scotland with yard number 492 as part of the Erebus-class on 12 October 1915, launched on 19 June 1916, commissioned on 2 September 1916, refitted in August 1939 and broken up in July 1946.
3. Laid down at the shipyard of Harland&Wolff, Govan, Scotland with yard number 493 as part of the Erebus-class on 26 October 1915, launched on 18 May 1916, commissioned on 6 August 1916 and after being heavily damaged by an German air attack sunk while towed towards Alexandria, Egypt off Derna, Libya on 23 February 1941.
