An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht dated 17 April 1937 reporting that the Italian navy built until 1926 minesweepers with a displacement of 175 tons and a speed of 12-14 knots. However the small torpedo boats available in a large number were also well suitable to be used as minesweepers.
