Dutch paddle steamship 4th class Zr. Ms. Madura stationed off Sumatra, Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 1 March 1861

An item dated The Hague, Netherlands 28th February referred to tidings of 15th January dealing with the movements of the Dutch squadron in the Dutch East Indies. The Dutch steamship Zr. Ms. Madura (2) lieutenant 1st class J.J.A.D. Phaff replaced the brig Zr. Ms. Haai (2) on 26 December 1860 at the station east coast of Sumatra, Dutch East Indies and was now lying in the roads of Muntok, Dutch East Indies.(1)

1. Call sign GQNH, iron-built, laid down at the shipyard of the Ned. Stoomboot Mij. Fijenoord, Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1855 with yard number 52, launched in 1856, trials 17-23 August 1856, disassembled to the Dutch East Indies and assembled at Surabaya, participated in the Boni-expedition in the Dutch East Indies on 19 February 1859, stricken in 1875, building costs ƒ 380.000,00, dimension 51,36 (between perpendiculars) x 9,45-14,83 (over paddle wheels) x 1,85 metres, displacement 425 tons, horsepower maximum 100 hp, an armament of 3 guns 1-30pd, 2-12pd carronades) and a crew numbering 50 men.

Brig 1st class, on stocks at the navy yard at Rotterdam, Netherlands by Glavimans on 29 October 1838, launched on 11 May 1842, docked at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 30 December 1842-12 January 1843, 25 October 1849-27 March 1850 and 18-20 February 1851, sold on a public auction at the naval establishment Onrust, Dutch East Indies on 20 June 1861, dimensions 31,50 x 9,5 x 4,50 metres, 546 tons displacement and armament of 18 guns.
