French armoured cruiser Jules Ferry (1903) in 1923

Lé Gambetta-design. Launched in 1903, completed in 1905, displacement 12.379 tons, horsepower 27.500 hp, coal fired reciprocating machinery and an armament of 4-7.6”guns, 14-6.5” guns, 13 smaller and light guns and 2 submerged torpedo tubes.

1. Brassey‘s naval and shipping annual 1923. Displacement 12.351 tons and as dimensions 487 x 70¼ x 27 feet. Horsepower 30.500 hp (Guyot). Built at Lorient, France. The armour consisted of a 4-6b¾ belt, a 2“ thick deck, 5.3” side above the belt, 6” bulkheads and the main and secondary armament protected by respectively 6” and 5”. Armament consisted of 4-7.6” guns, 16-6.4” guns, 16-9pd guns, 8-3pd guns and 2 submerged torpedo tubes. Speed 22,8 knots. Her crew numbered 728 men. Building costs 1.169,940 pound sterling.
